Song Meaning (Interpretation) of “Tablecloth” by Paul Baribeau
Tablecloth is a bittersweet song about the process of growing up. The narrator reminisces on how things have changed from childhood to adulthood, pointing out both the good and bad. From the start, the narrator reflects on the past and how life used to be simpler and how there used to be “no worry about tomorrow”. The reference to a tablecloth alludes to the idea that their life has been covered up, hidden away and not revealed.
